Data refresh: 2026-10-30. Original May 21 universe, scoring formulas and presets preserved. Prices are latest observed vendor data; quarter/year endpoints are financial periods, not publication dates. Observed FX only; no estimated FX fallback. Barrick retains the legacy GOLD universe key; all current data and quote links use
NYSE B (effective May 9, 2025). No Gold.com data is used.
Coverage: CXBMF: fundamentals unavailable; MGDPF: fundamentals unavailable; NESRF: price lag (2026-10-29); OCANF: fundamentals unavailable; ORLA: stale quote excluded (2026-07-30). Unavailable or over-31-day-old quotes are excluded from current ranks.

CIO research review - October 30, 2026
The unchanged balanced score now ranks DPMLF, KNTNF, WDOFF, KGC and LUGDF first through fifth. DPMLF, WDOFF and KGC show vendor-derived free-cash-flow yields of 13.1%, 8.3% and 10.2%. Across the scored group, median cash-flow yield rises from 5.2% to 6.2% and ROIC from 19.38% to 20.72%, while median positive forward P/E edges up from 8.27 to 8.70. This is a selective valuation-and-quality screen, not a uniform cheapness signal.
WPM is the clearest review item: its rank moves from fourteenth to twenty-eighth, with refreshed cash-flow yield of -6.7% and ROIC of 13.93%. Those are changed vendor metrics under the original formula; they do not establish credit distress or explain the cause of the change.
GDX declined 3.88% in observed October 23-30 adjusted prices. Valuation appeal has not prevented a weak sector week. The current scoring cohort is 28 rather than 30 names, and Barrick's legacy GOLD key now uses verified B data. Cohort and identity maintenance qualify comparisons with May ranks.
Research qualifications and sources
- The 32-name original universe is retained. ORLA is excluded from current scoring because its latest price is July 30; CXBMF, MGDPF and OCANF lack usable current fundamentals. NESRF is retained with an October 29 price lag.
- Barrick changed its NYSE ticker from GOLD to B effective May 9, 2025. The old GOLD symbol now refers to another issuer; the retained May GOLD-labelled data is not a clean Barrick comparison.
- Balanced formulas and presets are unchanged. Financial period endpoints are not publication dates; the cohort change affects relative ranks.
- Weekly benchmark figures use the latest available vendor-adjusted observations retrieved at 4:35:55 p.m. ET; they are not guaranteed final exchange settlement.
- Comparison medians use the conventional midpoint for even samples and positive forward P/Es; the sector header retains its original display convention.
